Year 3: Tap Into Abundance Through Leverage & With Love
A manifesto setting my intention for Year 3 of Project 52.
We are living through a time of great change.
The old is making way for the new faster than ever before.
I believe that we are moving from a paradigm of fear and scarcity into a paradigm of love and abundance.
The story of humanity is the story of our increasing capacity to tap into abundance. The world around us has always been overflowing with resources, just waiting to be leveraged. But our ability to tap into and realize the value of these resources was limited for most of our history.
But in the last 100 years or so, there’s been an explosion in our capacity to leverage the abundance around us. And particularly in the last 20-30 years, with the dawn of digital technology, we have opened up a whole new world of possibilities (or can of worms, depending on how you look at it).
Although we have created this world of abundance for ourselves, most of us are still trapped in the paradigm of scarcity. Many of those who have all the material abundance they need, still struggle with feelings of inadequacy.
On the other hand, we know of people who have next to nothing living perfectly content lives. So abundance, it seems, is first and foremost, a way of being.
Abundance as a Way of Being
As a way of being, abundance requires what I describe as “psycho-spiritual leverage”. Some would call it an “abundance mindset”.
An abundance mindset is a recognition that, by divine grace, you have exactly what you need at this moment and you are exactly who you need to be.
You have enough money right now to meet your needs. And if you can’t afford it then it isn’t meant to be yours right now.
You have enough time right now to do what you need to do. And if you can’t do it then it isn’t meant to be done by you right now.
Yes, there is a spiritual dimension here. After all, abundance is most closely associated with divinity — Mother Nature is the Source of all abundance.
But I’m not interested in glorifying poverty and spiritual bypassing the need for materialising abundance. Unless it is your dharma to be at peace with a life of material poverty, you must also seek to tap into material abundance.
And there’s never been a better time to do this, than now.
The 5 Types of Leverage
“Give me a place to stand, and a lever long enough, and I will move the world.” — Archimedes
“Levers are force multipliers. This is how some people can accomplish 10x, 100x, or 1,000,000x what others can. Leverage can multiply outcomes from your effort, your skill, and your judgement.” — Eric Jorgenson
Leverage is a mental model popularized by Naval Ravikant and Eric Jorgenson. It’s a way of thinking that helps you achieve exponential results, make an impact at scale, build immense wealth, and tap into the world of abundance. There are the 4 key types of leverage, as Eric describes them:
Tool leverage: In 1,000 AD, 70% of humans worked to feed the other 30%. In 2,000 AD, 3% of humans worked to feed the other 97%. This is possible through tool leverage. Tools in 1,000 AD were a plough and horse. Tools in 2,000 AD are a 1000hp tractor, which drives itself with GPS and plants *three acres per minute.*
People leverage: As Eric describes it, we are all somebody else’s leverage. We are all helping someone tap into abundance. Some examples of people leverage are employees, consultants, teammates, fans, agencies, audience, community, collaborators, and so on.
Capital leverage: To put it simply, you can use some money to make a lot of money. This is the essence of investing and the definition of capital leverage.
Digital product leverage: Software and content on the internet “preserves your effort or judgement”. You can create and share one piece of content on YouTube to get millions of views and make money on each view. One person building an app can reach millions of users.
In the previous section, I described psycho-spiritual leverage, which can also be described as “mindset” leverage. Just as lines of code can help someone achieve exponential results, the right thought patterns, mental frameworks, and worldviews are essential if you wish to move from scarcity to abundance.
In fact, I would say that psycho-spiritual leverage is the most fundamental form of leverage that makes all the other forms possible.
My Intention for Year 3 of Project 52
Project 52 is a system that helps you get in alignment with your highest potential and establish a track to unlock this potential. Here’s how it works:
You start by setting a bold intention for 52 weeks based on the biggest and most immediate roadblock preventing you from moving towards your highest potential.
Then, you identify and track practices that will help you fulfil that intention over 52 weeks.
As you progress towards fulfilling your intention, you integrate the lessons learned and transformations gained along the way through writing.
My intention for Year 1 (2020-2021) was to set the foundation for my physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Year 2 (2021-2022) was about getting rid of the emotional roadblocks that were sabotaging my life. Now that I have “cleaned my room” in the Petersonian sense and sorted my shit out, I can shift my focus outwards for Year 3 to make an impact on the world from a space of wholeness.
My mission here on earth is to engineer paradise — to create heaven on earth without taking any shortcuts. Tapping into abundance through leverage and with love is the means through which I will complete this mission.
For Year 3 of Project 52, I will explore the use of all 5 types of leverage to multiply outcomes from my efforts, skills, and judgement. I have tried to make an impact before, but I failed. There are 3 reasons why I believe this time will be different:
I have sorted my personal shit out. I am no longer trapped by fear and I’m good at transmuting trauma — which is the impact of fear.
I have a system that works. Project 52 has worked for me over the last 2 years, and I trust that it will deliver once again. The system itself has evolved to become more powerful and dynamic to support my journey.
I am not alone. For the last 10 years, I did have support from friends and family. But mostly, I was struggling alone. Now, I am no longer struggling — I’m surrendering and flowing. And I am no longer alone — I have a partner-in-crime and I have collaborators-in-creation.
So the question is — where do I begin? What is the highest leverage thing that I can do to create heaven on earth?
“What’s the one thing I can do, such that by doing it everything else will become easier or unnecessary?” — Keller Williams
I believe the answer lies in making my whole life an act of devotion — in living sincerely and aspiring to act in earnestness at all times.
Applying Eric’s leverage framework to this endeavour, here’s what we get:
Forces of input: Performing my Yajña — devotion through prayer and practices within the Project 52 tracking system.
Lever arm: Alignment with my Dharma — the path of least resistance and most effortlessness.
Point of leverage: The ability to trust my Karma — maintain the energetic hygiene necessary to step off the wheel of samsara.
Output: Being in Yoga — engineering paradise and realizing heaven on earth — establishing the realm of love, light, and life.
When I perform my Yajña in alignment with my Dharma, I can trust my Karma to lead me into being in Yoga.
When I live a life of devotion in alignment with my highest potential, I can trust that life is happening for me.
Using all 5 types of leverage — psycho-spiritual frameworks, tools, people, capital, and digital products — I intend to multiply the outcomes of my efforts, skills and judgement thus expanding my earnings, impact, and influence.
Now is the time for me to step into my power.
Now is the time for me to do what I’m here to do.
Now is the time to engineer paradise and establish heaven on earth!
The Paradigm of Love and Abundance
Here’s what I’ve realized recently — abundance implies that there’s going to be plenty of everything — even the “bad” stuff. Abundance is the place beyond good and evil. As I said in the introduction, we have a world of possibilities or can of worms in front of us. The future we create is up to us.
This is why we need love. Love is what enables the right choice.
To create a future worth living in, we need to anchor ourselves in love as we tap into the world of abundance. Otherwise, we risk making choices from a space of seperation. Love gives us the spaciousness and clarity needed to make choices that lead us to our highest potential.
This year, I intend to tap into an abundance of money and financial freedom. But I’m equally, if not more interested in tapping into an abundance of goodwill. I want to establish deep and meaningful dharmic relationships. I want to grow a network of trustworthy and inspiring collaborators-in-creation.
And together, we will establish the realm of love, light, and life.
Together, we will move into the paradigm of love and abundance!
